Our host Desiree Schell is back from the 2012 Student Leadership Conference of the Center for Inquiry on Campus. Desiree presented a workshop teaching proven, results-driven activism techniques employed by labor organizers and social activists, and applying them to the work of promoting critical thinking and science advocacy.
On Saturday, July 7, Desiree will be appearing at Skepchickcon, the science and critical thinking track of CONvergence 2012, the annual science fiction/fantasy fan convention in Bloomington, Minnesota. She’s moderating Ancient Alien Debate, a panel discussion on the evidence for extraterrestrial influence on ancient societies. She’s joined by panelists Scotty Roberts, founder and publisher of Intrepid Magazine, biologist and blogger P.Z. Myers, and anthropologist and regular show guest Greg Laden.
The panel takes place in the Bloomington Room, at 5 pm on Saturday, July 7. CONvergence 2012 runs from Thursday, July 5 to Sunday, July 8. For a full schedule and registration information, visit http://convergence-con.org/.
